We do not know God by defining him , but by being loved by him. And loving him in return.
Another does not know me nor do I know another by , defining or explaining , by categorizing or by psychologizing but only relationally by accepting and loving and by giving and receiving.

Jesus say's in John 17:3 And this is eternal life that you would know the Father and his Son Jesus Christ whom he sent.
To know something in a biblical view , is to have an interactive relationship with it. To relate to someone or something for who or what it really is.
Knowing Jesus as Lord is not simply knowing Christ is Lord , but rather to relate to him personally as Lord and Savior. Then to interact with Jesus on this basis through your daily life and activities. This stretches beyond a mere mental assent as the defining factor of our knowing, to an interactive life of faith and love.
1 John 4:19 We Love him because he first loved us.

So true and there is no other relationship I treasure more than that with Jesus. People cannot always be there, it's just humanly impossible to have another person meet all your needs or for me to meet theirs, it's just not going to happen. You will always be hurt and still wanting if you try, but he is there with complete understanding, love and grace in all we experience. You cannot find a better friend!
